The Celebration of Honor in Lincoln City, sponsored by Chinook Winds Casino Resort, is an annual event that honors the sacrifices of veterans and their families. It takes place at the Chinook Winds Casino Resort located at 1777 NW 44th Street, Lincoln City.
The celebration includes vintage and current day military vehicles, displayed and provided by the American Infantry Soldier Group, as well as military flags and the Vietnam Veterans of America 805 Oregon Veteran wall will be on display for public outdoor viewing.
***Wednesday, September 11, 2024, Escort of the Vietnam Veterans wall from Lincoln City Cultural Center located at: 540 NE Hwy 101, Lincoln City, OR 97367, to Chinook Winds Casino. Meet in parking lot starting at 11:00am. Escort departs at 12:00pm. Uniform of the day, red polos and cover. Lunch after, see next paragraph.
Veterans who show proof of service can pick up a free dining voucher at the Winners Circle. Voucher is valid through September 15, 2024. After the escort, everyone is invited to lunch to use those free meal vouchers!
***Saturday, September 14th, 2024 @ 2:00pm rededication ceremony of the Desert Storm Memorial located outside on the south side of the casino. Uniform of the day, red polos and covers.
The Veteran Services tent will be open in the parking lot on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 10:00am to 4:00pm and on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
September 12-19, 2024, Chinook Winds Casino is sponsoring Veterans, with proof of service, to receive movie tickets and popcorn at the Historic Bijou Theatre, located at 1624 NE Hwy 101, Lincoln City, OR 97367.
The Lincoln City Kiwanis Parade of Flags will line the streets of Lincoln City with flags to celebrate the week-long dedication.
“Veterans and Military Are Treated Better at the Beach!”
The event features various activities, including the Field of Honor Oregon KIA Memorial Wall, a Living Military History Weapons Display, and a Uniform Display. Veterans and active-duty personnel can also enjoy complimentary meals and entertainment during the celebration1. Additionally, there’s a Veterans Walk of Recognition in Lincoln, which occurs annually on Veterans Day and includes a ceremony and walk to honor veterans2. Another event, the Bricks of Honor Annual Dedication, takes place in Lincoln to celebrate the existence of the city’s unique Veteran’s Memorial Garden
