Sarah Callen’s, MCL Crater Lake Detachment, #373, exceptional leadership in the many community service organizations and civic projects she supports has been nothing less than outstanding. Callen was presented with the Community Service Award at the MCL Department of Oregon’s Summer Convention.

Throughout the year, Callen has served as the Chairwoman of the Klamath County Veteran’s Advisory Board, ensuring the synchronization of the many federal, state, county and municipal support programs and organizations that exist to benefit servicemembers and their families. She has personally been a primary force in our region in connecting veterans with housing, food, support services, therapy and many other basic essentials for living.

Callen’s actions reflect great credit upon herself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Marine Corps and the Marine Corps League.
